CBM

The technique of CBM (Condition Based Maintenance) is used to effectively plan maintenance based on actual equipment condition. The use of this approach allows to detect the defect at an early stage of its development, getting not only the failure statistics, but also data on trends in the condition of the equipment. Early detection of defects makes it possible to more efficiently prepare for the performance, reduce downtime, reduce the number of failures and the cost of emergency services.
In the context of the methodology being the study of the following areas in the field of control of technical condition of equipment: 

• Effective means and methods of diagnostics (taking into account the specifics of production);
• Equipment to which applicable means and methods of diagnostics;
• Training of specialists in modern methods of maintenance and condition monitoring;
• The implementation of condition monitoring equipment.

The use of the CBM methodology provides a more accurate planning of capital investments in maintenance and repair with a consequent general reduction of costs by reducing the number of regulated hours of service, reduce downtime, and perform only the necessary maintenance actions in the right time. The transition to the condition based maintenance of productive assets allows management to make better-informed decisions.
